August Churches Together workday

Churches Together, an ecumenical group drawn from a variety of religious institutions in town, asked a while ago whether they could come and spend a day working at the farm.  We decided that they could start work on a bee/butterfly garden, with space also for medicinal herbs and natural dyes, which we’ve been meaning to create for some time.  In the event, only two people came, but we still began to shape the garden and it is now a work in progress…  It is near to the cabin, bounded by four fruit trees and so far it contains nettles and thistles (hmm…)(as an illustration that these are valuable plants for bees and butterflies, not because we’re too idle to dig them out) and some comfrey rescued from the geese.  Early days…
